by Jon Belt L-A-Z-YI've always known that I'm lazy, but I never wanted to acknowledge it. I know that most people in this world are lazy, but I also know that people have overcome this bad word by developing healthy habits. Distractions are all around us and my distraction is TV. I love television, not because of the great things that are everywhere on Netflix, Hulu, HBOGO, Redbox, Showtime Anytime, MaxGo, Starz, ESPNGO, iTunes, youTube, NBA, NFL, PGA Tour, and the list goes on and on and on and on and on. I can always find something to make my brain stop working. That is exactly why I love it so much, it makes my brain stop working. I need an intervention because I know it is my resistance. Once the AppleTV is on and ready to search, I'm hooked like a moth to a flame. In order to turn it off, it must be time to sleep. All the aspirations I have and dreams I want to accomplish are all determined by this device, whether I turn it on or keep it off. If I keep it off, I read, I blog, I research, I clean, I read some more, I listen to podcasts, I listen to audiobooks, I write, I create, I find, I'm productive. Why do I let this simple distraction have a hold of me so tightly? Because our brain wants the least amount of suffering and TV makes the brain suffer the least. My resistance is television. What is your resistance?
